La Liga font

image of the official La Liga font

The La Liga font that is used in the official logo for the Spanish football league competition is a typeface by the name of Futura Maxi. It was designed and created by a font author called Victor Caruso.

The rainbow is the source of inspiration for the Primera División’s vibrant and colorful emblem. A football is surrounded by a collection of colored patches that appear to be once a large ring. Below the symbol is the lettering “LaLiga” (without such adequate space in between “a” and the capital “L”). Because of the placing of the capital letter “L” in the middle and the letter “i” is marginally higher than in many other fonts, thus, making the typefaces on the Spanish La Liga logo have a slight adverse effect. Lastly, the featured font is written in robust and fully-rounded sans-serif lettering.

About the Spanish La Liga football brand

The top men’s division of the Spanish football league system is called the Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Primera División, or La Liga in English-speaking nations. It is 20 teams strong and is run and administered by the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional. The bottom three teams in every season are demoted to the Segunda División and are filled by the top two second-place teams and the play-off victor. La Liga has been ranked as the best league in Europe by UEFA’s tournament coefficient standings from 2013 – 2019, which were determined using totals from the seasons before.
